ootd: Sally

dress: vintage/DIY
necklace: vintage/DIY
cardigan: H&M
boots: vintage

This is one of the outfits I wore while my parents were in town to see Chicago. They surprised me with this adorable dark purple ukulele, that I have named Sally. My parents and I had such a lovely visit, though we really miss my little sister, Nicola!
Recently I have taken to transforming my mother's old charm bracelet into necklaces that I can wear, as I am allergic to metal! Also, this dress was only $00.50. It used to be frumpy 90's mom dress, but with a few snips and a quick hem, it feels as good as new. I love pairing it with my leather boots, it gives it a real western feel!

TV Shows: Season Finales

Nikita
Nikita takes home "The Best Season Finale" award for me!!!  Season 2 ended with 4 mind-blowing episodes in a row. The stakes for each episode kept increasing until the very end of the season. I have to admit, some of the writing isn't the finest, and at times it can be so cheesy that it makes for a good laugh. All in all, this TV show exceeded my expectations. I can't wait for Season 3 ! Does anyone else watch Nikita, I feel like I'm the only one?

New girl
Not gonna lie, I was slightly disappointed with the finale of New Girl. I was anticipating a lot more. I think it's because Season 1 had been so impressively funny, I was expecting a bigger finish. Zooey Deschanel is inspiring in so many different ways. She's my number 1 girl crush!

Vampire
VD's is my guilty pleasure! I blame my little sister for getting me hooked. Ok, VD's gets an A+ on it's season finale. In my opinion is was such a strong ending! Much more exciting than past seasons. I can not wait for season 4!

                            Smash
I have a love/hate relationship with Smash and was slightly disappointed with the season finale. I more than love the idea of the show, but I don't like that fact that the character we are suppose to root for (Karen) is not (in my opinion) right for the role of Marilyn. To say the least, I am undeniably on Team Ivy, even though I think her character is a terrible human being.  I am really interested to see what happens with Season 2. Will it be a continued story of the duelling Marilyn's or will we get to see a whole new musical be created?

What was your favourite season finale???

Before and After: Lace Shorts

I have one major flaw when it comes to 'Before and After' projects. I (without fail) always forget to take the 'Before' picture and just go to straight to work on the up-cycling. For this project I was able to just do some pinning to get the 'Before' look, other projects I haven't been so lucky!

Before
These are a pair of khaki shorts that a friend gave to me in 2007. They are pretty boring and slightly outdated, so I thought I would give them a little make over!

After

I used two different types of vintage lace from my Mum's collection of vintage material for the make over. They are so much fun to wear now! They have a really feminine feel, which I love pairing with my shit kicker boots! I will post some outfit pictures with them soon!

This make over was inspired by Sincerely, Kinsey, a blog that I found through A Beautiful Mess. Here's a look at her shorts make over! Both sites having amazing ideas for DIY. Make sure you check them out!

Tap Shoes

This past Christmas right before going on stage to perform, one of my front taps exploded into a whole bunch of pieces. This was the result.

I went on with my broken tap. Not going to lie, I was a little worried, but everything went well and the audience loved it. I am definitely in need of a new pair of tap shoes. I haven't gotten new shoes yet, but they are high up on my wish list. When I was in Vancouver I purchased new front taps for my old shoes and high heels taps so that I can build up a pair of my character shoes.

I have been craving/needing high heel tap shoes for over a year now. Hopefully I will have a pair by the end of the month! I can't wait!

What's your favourite style of high heel tap shoe?
