Birthday with a B: Birthday Blitz

So I pretty much feel like the luckiest girl in the world after this past weekend. I've never been one to go 'all out' with Birthdays, but this year I suppose was the exception. Actually I think it was more so good luck and good timing. Good timing came in the form of the Blitz party. If any of you have read my blog since last year you'll know that I went to the London Blitz Party, the monthly 1940's vintage event this past New Year's Eve and had one of the best nights of my life. So what better way to ring in my Birthday than with some of my best friends in full vintage style. Nothing!

My good friends Nic, Paddy, Remi and I hit the dance floor about nine thirty, right in the middle of the first live set. We literally entered and streamer cannons went off. It was pretty surreal! We danced our little hearts out, bought a Spitfire beer, and kept on boogieing! Nic and Paddy went as Rosie and Dick Riveter. Remi and I were their upper class friends, more specifically Remi was the eldest son of an American Steel family. I went as a bomb girl out for a night on the town. We met, love at first sight.

The night was brilliant! Nic and Paddy also surprised me with an amazing Birthday present and a hilarious card to boot! I'll show you some pictures of them later.

If anyone is every in London you must try and catch the Blitz party! You must go!

Thanks for tuning in!

It Feels Like Autumn

Hey internet pals,

I hope everyone is having an amazing September so far. So much has changed in my life over the past two weeks. My boyfriend, Remi has moved all the way across the world to live with me in England (crazy, I know), I've quit two jobs and started working at my new one, and this past weekend was my 24th Birthday. I have many fun posts to come!

Times are changing, and so is the weather. Last week the crispness of Autumn was in the air, and that intense heat we've been having over here in London has finally gone. Now is the time to start unpacking that Autumn/Winter wardrobe, with the start of London Fashion week only two days away. Jumpers, scarves and boots at the ready.

One of my favourite parts of the Autumn season is enjoying the lazy foggy mornings, with massive cups of tea. This morning I started catching up on the blogs that I read, as I am very far behind. Thank goodness for Bloglovin, am I right? I just had to share this wonderful post from A Beautiful Mess to get everyone in the Autumn mood. This article had my little heart swimming in love with Autumn.

Spiked Maple Apple Cider, nom.
I would love to try and make these Homemade Beeswax Candles.
Yummy, Spicy Hot Chocolate.

What are some of your favourite Fall treats?

Happy Autumn!!!

Love,

Ain't Got No Sunday Blues

Hello there, friends!

Sorry that I've been missing in action for the past few weeks. Today was my first day off in 3 weeks, hallelujah! There have been so many big changes going on in my life, it's been hard to keep up. Hopefully I can start to write again now that things have settled down, but do things every really settle down in this crazy city?

Here are my lovely finds from the Blackheath Farmers Market, along with my finds from today's Charity Shop adventure. Starting off I found this beautiful vintage mirror. I've been hunting for one for some time now, so I was thrilled when I came across this little gem. Truth be told I was looking for a reasonable priced teapot, but I was quite happy to be walking away with this instead.

Then we have my beautiful gladiolas. I absolutely love having fresh flowers in the house, it makes such a difference, and gladiolas happen to be one of my favourites. We grow them in my greenhouse at home, so having them about always brings back fond summer memories.

Next up we have this charming little casserole dish that I found at the Charity Shop for just £1.50. Can you believe that. I just love the delicate litte flowers. I can't wait to make crumbles in this dish, it's just perfect!

And finally we have my yummy food finds from the market. Not much, but some of my favourites. I love these fresh strawberries, and nothing beats fresh corn and garlic.

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend, enjoy your last week of August!

Love,
CP

To Brighton We Go

This Monday I made my first trip down to Brighton with two of my best pals, Sam and Darragh. Sam and I met up around 10am to get our tickets from Victoria Station and then met up with the lovely, Darragh down south. We arrived in Brighton around 11:30am on one of the hottest days of the year so far. It was absolutely boiling.

We stopped in shops along the Lanes and Sam even found this glorious new hat. We had a lot of fun looking through these old travel adverts.
We quickly made our way to the beach, where we spent most of our day. We each rented out one of these colourful beach chairs and got right down to relaxing. We had a ball just chatting, sitting and of course, people watching.

I'm as happy as a clam in this one.

 Trying on Sam's new hat.

We took a break from all of the sunshine and went and bought some lunch. We all decided that it was a fish'n'chips kinda day.
We followed up lunch by grabbing some ice cold Gelato and making a wee Tesco run to grab some drinks for later in the evening.
One of the slightly hilarious/strange events that happened during the day, was that a man wearing a suit came to the beach and handed out these ginormous coke water bottles. Apparently everyone was very desperate to get there hands on a new water bottle. Like seagulls to bread, I tell you! It was terrifying, hence Sam's reaction.

As the sun started to go down, we decided to slide our shoes back on and go for a walk along the pier.

Of course taking many hilarious selfies along the way.
We did a lap around the pier and after we decided it was time for dinner! We opted for a picnic style supper, with a bottle or two of prosecco! Is there any other way to end the day?
We enjoyed a magnificent sunset.
All in all it was an amazing day! Filled with a lot of laughs, sunshine and food. I hope that me and my pals get to go on another trip like this very soon.

Thanks for tuning in!
