Hello Internet Pals!

Here are some shots from the past few months. Remi and I have been trying to make the most of our time off together. We went to the Balmorhea concert, walked all the way through Greenwich park to the market. We've also been having a great time with Remi's French-Canadian pal, Mark. The three of us went to September's V&A Late, where the museum is opened during the evening! It's a completely different vibe then it's usual day time hours. I would really recommend it!

Birthday with a B: Birthday Blitz

So I pretty much feel like the luckiest girl in the world after this past weekend. I've never been one to go 'all out' with Birthdays, but this year I suppose was the exception. Actually I think it was more so good luck and good timing. Good timing came in the form of the Blitz party. If any of you have read my blog since last year you'll know that I went to the London Blitz Party, the monthly 1940's vintage event this past New Year's Eve and had one of the best nights of my life. So what better way to ring in my Birthday than with some of my best friends in full vintage style. Nothing!

My good friends Nic, Paddy, Remi and I hit the dance floor about nine thirty, right in the middle of the first live set. We literally entered and streamer cannons went off. It was pretty surreal! We danced our little hearts out, bought a Spitfire beer, and kept on boogieing! Nic and Paddy went as Rosie and Dick Riveter. Remi and I were their upper class friends, more specifically Remi was the eldest son of an American Steel family. I went as a bomb girl out for a night on the town. We met, love at first sight.

The night was brilliant! Nic and Paddy also surprised me with an amazing Birthday present and a hilarious card to boot! I'll show you some pictures of them later.

 If anyone is every in London you must try and catch the Blitz party! You must go!

Hey Everybody!
Happy first day of June. So I'm not sure if most of you know, but I have a pretty big lady crush on Melinda Sullivan. She's a young tap dancer originally from LA and has been training with the best since the age of 14. Some of you might recognize her for SYTYCD season 7.

The video I've posted above is for her new class called, Untapped - No Tap Shoes Allowed. It's aimed at beginners, but I can't get over the cool, sleek, and relaxed style of this combo. I definitely learnt it in my kitchen yesterday. It just shows that simplicity, timing and space can be everything.

Been Listening: Babeshadow

I know it's Christmas time and I should be listening to the classics, but I just can't get enough of Babeshadow! I stumbled upon them in the streets of Covent Garden a few Thursdays ago. They were playing right in the middle of Seven Dials (next to Matilda). There weren't too many people when I walked past, so I just stood directly in front of them. It was the perfect view, picturesque, like a movie moment. I felt as though they were playing just for me!

I am so glad I snapped that shot for many different reasons, but mostly because I have a terrible memory for names. It was pretty much an instant like.That's what I call right time, right place. In terms of their sound, it's SO my cup of tea! They're kind of like if Vampire Weekend and Mystery Jets had a baby or maybe just a brother (PS. it looks like they are friends with Mystery Jets, which makes sense to me, haha). Yup, that's my best description! They also have awesome personal style and seem like pretty cool dudes! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

The Girl in the Houndstooth Coat

Last week I was lucky enough to watch Ingrid Michaelson, live in concert. It was amazing to say the least. Ingrid's music was one of the main reasons why I wanted to learn how to play the ukulele. The first song I ever learnt was her ever popular "You and I", also known by my Mother as "The Bunny Song". She is a goddess and is so incredibly funny and real!

The event was at Union Chapel, a much loved venue in London. I went with my amazing friend Ruthie and a couple of her friends. We had a ball. Here are a few pictures from that evening and some shots of the fleeting sunshine!

My Edinburgh Fringe Cabaret.

Hello everyone!

This is a little cabaret I threw together for the Edinburgh Fringe! I had so much fun performing that evening to such a lovely crowd! It was an exciting night for me and I definitely learned a few things, for example, make sure you leave yourself enough time to breath after tapping! It was also my first time ever performing with a ukulele, ekkk!!!

 Another thing that was absolutely bananas about that night was that it was my first time singing a song I have been wanting to sing for about 5 years (we ran out of time to even go through it once)! You see, there is no sheet music for this song because it is so old. So one of my friends Gavin, who is a musical genius, transcribed the song for me that day. I hope you enjoy it!

New York Tuesday

This week Remi hosted the Tuesday Session at the Yardbird Suite. It was a night of dirty pizza and jazz.  I invited Charmaine to be my date - we both agreed it was an evening straight from New York - a city we both love dearly!
