Been Listening: Babeshadow

I know it's Christmas time and I should be listening to the classics, but I just can't get enough of Babeshadow! I stumbled upon them in the streets of Covent Garden a few Thursdays ago. They were playing right in the middle of Seven Dials (next to Matilda). There weren't too many people when I walked past, so I just stood directly in front of them. It was the perfect view, picturesque, like a movie moment. I felt as though they were playing just for me!

I am so glad I snapped that shot for many different reasons, but mostly because I have a terrible memory for names. It was pretty much an instant like. That's what I call right time, right place. In terms of their sound, it's SO my cup of tea! They're kind of like if Vampire Weekend and Mystery Jets had a baby or maybe just a brother (PS. it looks like they are friends with Mystery Jets, which makes sense to me, haha). Yup, that's my best description! They also have awesome personal style and seem like pretty cool dudes! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

A Night Out

Reading by candle light, waiting for NewsRevue to begin with my half pint of Guinness!

Table for one please! I find myself saying this a lot, but I'm really starting to enjoy it.

I feel like I have always been a pretty independent person. I don't mind doing things by myself, be it shopping, the movies, or dinner. Now, more so than ever this quality has become very important. Most of my friends over here are very busy people, and hey, I guess I am too. With conflicting schedules and the Christmas season in full swing, I've been having lots of solo dates. Not going to lie, some times I do wish that I was with a friend so that I could share the amazing experiences I am having. But it's like I can almost feel my 'self' growing from the independence.

How do you feel about solo date? Do you love 'em or hate 'em?

I hope everyone is enjoying their Monday!

Finished!

My pal Nic's Yoga Bunny drink, so cute.

My favourite breakfast lately!

Bracken looking at all the treats.

People always think we are crazy when we order London Fogs.

Our feast! They have metallic, sparkly, lavender macaroons. Heaven!!!

Here are some more pictures of yummy food and treats from a few weeks ago! I hope everyone has had a lovely week!

Fashion in Motion

 My first fashion show.

Today turned out to be an amazing day. It was suppose to be a 'catch-up' day, but it ended up being a day of glamour and fun. My beautiful friend, Nat gave me a last minute invite to watch Fashion in Motion, a Fyodor Golan fashion show at the V&A Museum. I literally dropped everything I was doing and tried to figure out what on earth to wear. This left me little to no time to do my hair or make-up, let alone eat. I managed to get to South Kensington and track down Nat just in time. We stood in the queue for mere minutes before we were on our way in to find our seats. We were both first time fashion show goers and were extremely excited for it to begin. Finally the lights faded to black. Gentle, but urgent music began to play, with a swell of blue light coming from behind a statue. The first model entered and we were on our way. The collection was beautiful. With bright vibrant primary colours, contrasting soft fabrics, and harsh geometric shapes, it made for a very exciting show. It was over before we knew it. "Again, again" Nat cried. It's true, I definitely could have watched it all over again.

Here are some photos I managed to catch while watching the show, along with some pictures of Nat and I.

Beautiful electric yellow high low dress.

 Stunning mosaic bodice/corset.

Such beautiful beaded detailing, along with unique hair and make up.

 Nat and I.

 My outfit.

Lady pals in trousers.

handbag: Miu Miu
top: high low burnt orange,  Young Fabulous & Broke
trousers: Navy Blue Suede, JOOP!
shoes: Urban Outfitters

Also, as of yesterday I inherited a ridiculous amount of old clothing from a family friend! Talk about being a lucky lady! Hence a little bit change in style and new-to-me designer names!!!

Thanks for tuning in!

Ed's Easy Diner

The other week after a job interview I met up with my friend, Brian (We went to Uni together in Canada). Brian was feeling a bit hungry, so we went searching for some quick eats! We came across Ed's Easy Diner, an American diner in the heart of London. It was the perfect choice, I had such a lovely time.

Ed's has such a great atmosphere. With jukebox classics playing loudly and the surprising comfort of North American accents chirping everywhere, you would've never guessed that you were in London.

I wasn't feeling particularly hungry, so I decided to be bad and get one of my favourite treats, a vanilla milkshake. They always remind me of my Dad. Sometimes when I was younger, after dance class, my Dad and I would stop by a McDonald's and pick up a medium vanilla milkshake to share on the way home. Vanilla is our favourite flavour!

Another fun thing about Ed's is that it's right across from the Prince Edward Theatre, home of the West End's Jersey Boys! How much fun would it be to watch an evening's performance and then afterwards head next door for a treat from Ed's! It's just perfect!

That's Brian. Ain't he charming.

You can't really see what I'm wearing, but I was trying to look 'businessy'.

Vanilla Milkshake.

Two thumbs up for the chilli Burger!

Two Canadian pals in Piccadilly Circus.
