Paris - Day 3

Our last day in Paris was the busiest by far. It was a day of site seeing, the Louvre Museum, and a lot macaroons. We were very organized with our last day! We had everything planned out (with a bit a of time added for getting lost). We started off at the Palais Garnier. The Opera house came highly recommend from both Nina, and quite a few friends. It's not hard to see why everyone loves this place so much. As soon as you step inside the gold filled rooms, you feel as if you're in a dream.

Next it was time for macaroons! First we stopped at Ladurée, probably one of the most famous Bake Shops in Paris. Ladurée is actually all over Europe, but I thought it wouldn't be right to leave without trying one or two from the real deal. And I must admit, they were slightly better than the ones I've had in London.

Pierre Hermé was the 2nd shop on our way to the Louvre! And let me tell you, these guys are some of the best I've ever had! Thanks for the reference WishWishWish!

The final, and probably my favourite bakery we visited was Angelina. The atmosphere was perfect. There was a sense of tradition, without being touristy or commercial. Angelina was simple and elegant. It was a lovely experience with an intense selection of cakes, macaroons and pastries. By this time we had hit a sugar overload (due to too many macaroons), so we went for the Mont Blanc, recommended by WishWishWish and a croissant to save for later. 

After walking through Jardin du Tuileries, we finally reached the Louvre. We took everyone's advice and did not go through the Pyramid entrance, which saved us a lot of time. Our Louvre experience was amazing! We chose to go through the Sully wing and then hunt down the Mona Lisa and Milo de Venus. Our plan worked perfectly! We spent about 2 1/2 hours wandering about and felt very satisfied with our trip. 

Paris Travel Tip - if you're under 26 and have a UK passport or visa you get into most Museums for free (or at least a discount), best thing ever!

The last stop on our extremely touristy day was the Notre Dame. I didn't think I was going to be as moved as I was. It was a beautiful experience.

Hi Everyone,

And a belated Merry Christmas to you! Here are some shots from around London and my flat from my second Christmas away from home. This year was a lot easier for me. I had a better idea of what to expect and I also had my man with me, so that of course helped bucket loads! It was so great to have a house to call my own this Christmas. I had a lot of fun decorating on a next to nothing budget! Here's a little video of some of my handmade decorations!

Hello Internet Pals!

Here are some shots from the past few months. Remi and I have been trying to make the most of our time off together. We went to the Balmorhea concert, walked all the way through Greenwich park to the market. We've also been having a great time with Remi's French-Canadian pal, Mark. The three of us went to September's V&A Late, where the museum is opened during the evening! It's a completely different vibe then it's usual day time hours. I would really recommend it!
