Galway Adventures

Hey Everybody! I just started my first week of rehearsals for a new show, so sorry that there haven't been any updates since last week. Here are some pictures from my trip to Galway!

[ The Spanish Arch. ]

The whole trip was so much fun. I was also incredibly lucky in terms of weather, as I never got rained on once in the whole five days I was there. The first half of my Ireland trip was spent with one of my best friends, Ryan. Right now he is working as a doctor in Galway. We went to so many cool restaurants and pubs, he also took me on an amazing hike.

One of my favourite pubs that Ryan took me too was the Salthouse Bar. It's a kooky little place that has a crazy selection of beers. They have 23 craft beers on draught and 150 plus of different bottled beer from around the world. My favourite was the Galway Brewery's, Buried At Sea, a chocolate milk stout. It's seriously one of the best chocolate stouts I've ever had.

[ The Bartender was hilarious and very helpful! ]

[ My first of many pints of Guinness in Ireland. ]

The next day we headed out to the Burren to hike part of the Blackhead. To be honest I think this was my first real hike as an adult, and boy was it amazing. The Burren as Ryan said kinda looks like the moon, it's all rock (and grass).

[ Ryan's girlfriend, Julie even leant me her hiking gear. I don't remember the last time I wore a windbreaker. ]

[ Look at that handsome guy. ]

[ Jumping over 'The Wall'. ]

Ryan and I have known each other from the very beginning. Our mums have been best friends for almost 30 years, so us and our siblings grew up together and are pretty much brothers and sisters. Ryan and I hadn't seen each other since last Halloween in London, so we were super excited to catch up and explore Galway.

Another fun part of my trip was taking pictures of Remi's nephew, Cohen! Cohen's grade one class is doing a project right now where they send a "flat" version of themselves around the world and get a friend or family member to take pictures of them. I had a lot of fun with it!

[ More drinks at the Salthouse. ]

I really did not want to leave Galway. I had such a lovely time catching up with Ryan, drinking delicious beer and eating yummy food.

If you ever find yourself in Galway here are some places that Ryan showed me:

Ard Bia at Nimmos - For breakfast/brunch/lunch - I had the most amazing juice and a steak burger. Yum!

Creole - A New Orleans inspired Dinner - We had the yummy cajun calamari and spiced potato skins.

The Salthouse Bar - For all of the beer - Buried At Sea was the winner.

Tig Coili -  A Traditional Pub with Trad Music everyday of the week - It had such an amazing atmosphere and great music. Definitely made me feel like I was in Ireland.

Rouge - A Fancy French Restaurant - Extremely tasty food with live music. Best!
